Although not fully essential as streaming has taken off in recent years, DVR recording of series and shows still remains an important part of home and travel entertainment. No popular app does a great job of managing EPGs, providing good searching out capabilities over extensive iptv lineups let alone providing important series recording capabilities and DVR content back into your personal media library. Think of it, something similar to PlayOn but ingrained into the app for iptv showings and maybe even VOD content from IPTV providers.

Follow the schedule of a show starting from a particular episode with it matching the cadence of release based on when the subsequent episodes released Will help with nightly shows that release nightly rather than weekly and shows that aired two episodes in one night

Would love the ability to not have the button to skip credits show up since I never skip the credits

Just a toggle to keep logos colorful in full screen, or maybe a per Channel option to white them out

As we discussed in Discord, there is an issue with audio playback when using an AppleTV with HomePods via Airplay2. This seems to be a known issue with VLC on ATV (see potential workarounds below). The Problem: VLCKit (TVVLCKit) doesn't properly handle AirPlay 2 latency when routing audio to HomePods on newer Apple TVs. This causes garbled/staticky audio and sync issues. This is a known bug filed in VLCKit's own GitLab tracker as issues #179 and #188. What to try on the tvOS app side: Fix the AVAudioSession configuration. Make sure it's set up with the correct route sharing policy for HomePod/AirPlay 2: swifttry AVAudioSession.sharedInstance().setCategory( .playback, mode: .moviePlayback, routeSharingPolicy: .longFormAudio ) Listen for AirPlay route changes using AVAudioSession.routeChangeNotification. When a route change to an AirPlay device is detected, apply a negative audio offset (~2000ms) to VLC's clock to compensate for AirPlay 2's built-in buffer delay. Force audio transcoding to stereo AAC before sending to AirPlay. VLCKit sometimes passes through audio codecs that AirPlay 2 can't handle cleanly, which causes the static. Transcoding to stereo AAC first is what apps like Infuse do, and it solves the issue. Reference: VLCKit GitLab issues #179 and #188 at code.videolan.org/videolan/VLCKit Thanks!

Would be great for the Scheduler feature to notify 10-20 mins before a “new” episode airs

It seems this option only shows up for TV Custom channels rather than Mixed channels that have movies and TV shows

I notice shows with significantly more episodes (Late Night Shows, long running shows) end up marathoning when I have fully mixed options selected It seems like it’s weighting it towards episode numbers vs going to another show after an episode of one show has already played

For mobile (iPad/iOS), please consider adding swipe to change channels for both forward and backward.

If you’re watching a show that aired on CBS, it will prioritize bumpers tagged with CBS to play before and after other ads during an ad break session

Hide the status bar (time, battery info, ect) when in full screen on iOS devices

Ability to create/edit/delete collections in the app, and maybe even generate them with AI if wanted.
